Tantrum

We had our first honest-to-God, no-reason, flailing-on-the-floor tantrum Thursday morning. The Boy rolled around screaming inconsolably for about three or four minutes. No idea what caused it, and it just sort of petered out on it's own. I haven't read up on the latest, but our friend Memsy (mother of the Golden Child) says the best thing to do is let it run it's course and be there to provide comfort and reassurance, as apparently it can get just as scary for the child as for the parent.

Actually, the first thing she said, in a slightly frantic voice that reflected how vivid this phase still lives in her mind six years after she went through it was, "WELCOME TO THE TWOS!"
